Welcome, dearest sister, to another Christmas Challenge!
As per usual, the road to your gift may be a perilous journey.
It will be fraught with monsters, obstacles, pitfalls...and clicking.
Mostly clicking.
Well? What are you waiting for?!
Let's get started.
Santa has a gift for you, but you can't find his workshop...
It's freezing, and the snow is really starting to come down.
To your right, you think you see a light in the distance.
To your left, you can just barely make out a shape.
Right?
Or left?
You walk to the right...
You walk to the left...
Will you go right? Or left?
And again: Right? Or left?
You think you might see something in the distance...
Right? Or left?
Yes! You do see something! It's glinting red...
Right? Or left?
You're getting closer...but is it getting closer too...?
It's probably just a trick of the light...
Right? Or left?
You start to turn, but the glint of red is so close!
And you can almost make out...antlers???
You take a chance:
"Rudolph?" you call out.
The figure turns slowly.
It rushes towards you!!!
You stand, frozen in fear...
But it is Rudolph! His signature red nose lights the way.
He lowers his head as he barrels towards you...
Rudolph, with his nose so bright, gores you on this Christmas night!
You have just enough time to wonder what could have caused this...
Before you bleed out.
Care to try again?
You're approaching the object...maybe a lamp post of some kind?
Still, though, that light dances tantalizingly to your right...
Right?
Or left?
The snow is really coming down now.
You can barely see the tip of your nose and might have gotten a bit turned around.
You can't see anything in either direction...
Right?
Or left?
You reach out, grasping wildly.
Your hand hits something solid, and suddenly, the snow clears!
You're touching a candycane-striped post that seems to stretch to the sky.
You try moving your hand away, but the snow instantly blinds you.
(Better keep touching it.)
Could this really be the North Pole?
You look around for some idea of what to do next...
Towards the bottom of the pole, you see etched letters...
"Delicate alone."
"Deadly together."
"What is it?"
Or read the riddle again?
"Snowflake," you murmur.
You hear a loud rumbling noise, like thunder...
The ground under your feet gives way!
You cling to the North Pole for dear life as you fall!
After what seems like an eternity, you gently touch the ground.
It's pitch black. You reach out and feel a light switch.
You flip it on. Santa's workshop is bathed in light!
It's completely trashed and also appears to be deserted.
See if anybody's around? |
Or move silently ahead?
You slowly move into the workshop.
You accidentally trip over a broken toy, making a loud noise.
"Hello?" you call out softly.
There's no response, so you slowly move into the workshop.
You see a flash of movement out of the corner of your eye.
You carefully approach...
"Please don't hurt me!" the elf whimpers, hands over his face.
"Relax, I won't hurt you," you say.
"Oh, thank you," the elf says gratefully.
Then his eyes narrow.
"Wait...how do I know you're not with him?"
"I'm not," you protest. "I mean, who even is he -- ?"
The elf shoves his iPad in your face.
"I won't tell you anything unless you can solve THIS!" he declares.
"Hmmm...I guess you're okay," the elf says, although he seems suspicious.
The elf holds up his iPad again.
He clearly wants you to be impressed so bad.
"You're so brave!!" |
Something seems a little weird about that...
"Oh," you say. "Uh, how did you survive?"
The elf looks shifty. "Look, sometimes you have to do...things. To survive."
You're getting a bad feeling about this.
Before you can react, the elf has a sharpened candycane to your throat!
"I'm sorry," he says. "But once he finds out who sent you..."
"...Well, that'll be enough to buy me my freedom."
The elf yells for Robot Santa!
Before you know it, he's there...
And he shows no mercy.
Care to try again?
"You're so brave!" you coo. "Wow. Amazing."
The elf looks very flattered.
"Listen..." he says. "I'm going to level with you."
"Turning you in could buy me my freedom."
"What?" you ask. "Why me?"
The elf stares at you. "You were sent by Santa!"
So what?
"Well, he must have told you what to do!"
You think REALLY hard. DID Santa tell you what to do?
You think you remember...something.
Something about...the weapon of your grandfather...?

Pair of docks? Does that make sense?
That's right! A paradox. You remember now!
You're just gonna this sentence is false him.
Trust Santa!
What could go wrong?
You tell the elf your plan. He agrees to call Robot Santa for you.
The elf summons Robot Santa and scurries away.
You stand alone in Santa's workshop...
Suddenly, Robot Santa is in front of you!
There's no time to waste!
"This...sentence...is...false!"
Robot Santa raises his robot eyebrow.
Then he raises his robot AR-15.
Uh-oh.
Suddenly, you remember something else Santa told you...
There's a magical phrase that can save you...and save Santa!
All you have to do is answer one simple question!
What do unicorns eat?
Wait, what?
Yeah, that question makes no sense. You're gonna die.
Robot Santa raises his gun.
Wait! You once knew the answer!
It was found in your childhood home...
In a treasure chest of some sort...
